Brief History
Prokar Inc was originally known as Railway Maintenance Company. Since August 1982, we have provided lining and light mechanical repairs to a moderate size fleet of covered hoppers in the Beaumont, Texas area. In 1991, Prokar expanded our operations by 100% and set up an additional lining and outlet repair facility in South Texas near Victoria. In March 2001, yet another facility was added in Freeport, Texas followed by Addis, LA in February 2005 and Plaquemine, LA in May 2008. Each of these locations is within our customer's facilities on designated work tracks and the programs are tailored to each customer's needs.

Services Offered
We provide lining repairs including touch-up and refurbish programs, mechanical repairs including welding as well as hatch cover and complete outlet repairs and modifications. Inbound inspections, exterior touch-up, AEI tag replacement, mechanical repair, air brake testing and repair are commonly part of our services.

Prokar Inc currently employs 24 people and maintains several moderate sized fleets of hopper cars and over 200 tank cars.. We provide excellent workmanship, fast turn-around and the best value for your maintenance dollar.

Our personnel are well trained and experienced in their respective areas of expertise. We use the equipment that best suits this type of work and materials from suppliers we believe to provide the best service and products known in the industry. Many of our employees are long-term dedicated people who strive to deliver their finest workmanship for the benefit of their company and themselves.
