Texas State Railroad State Historical Park

This historic state railroad is still maintained as a fully self-contained railroad system. Visitors can experience a train ride passing through the beautiful piney woods and hardwood creek of East Texas. Its track crew maintains over 25 miles of track and 24 bridges.

The Galveston Island Railroad Museum
Galveston, Texas
The last regularly scheduled passenger train departed Galveston on 11 April 1967. This railroad museum helped with the preservation of Galveston Island's rich railroad heritage.

Saint Louis Union Station
St. Louis, Missouri
The Saint Louis Union Station was once the largest and busiest railroad terminal in the world. Today, it is a National Historic Landmark with the expansive 11.5 acre train shed features a hotel, a unique marketplace of shops, assortment of fine restaurants and cafes, live entertainment and a lake with boats.

RailsWest Railroad Museum and HO Model Railroad
Council Bluffs, Iowa
This museum is listed in National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can see an 1899 Rock Island Depot houses operating model railroad, a Burlington handcar, historic photos, dining car memorabilia and uniforms, Union Pacific RPO car, and a Rock Island caboose.

Council Bluffs, Iowa
America's railroads and Council Bluffs are inextricably woven together. The city was the eastern terminus for the first transcontinental railroad. All rail travel heading west in the late 1800s had to connect with the Union Pacific Railroad in Council Bluffs.
